Senator John Edwards, the 2004 Democratic vice-presidential nominee and former U.S. Senator from North Carolina, will visit University of Texas-Austin as part of
Opportunity Rocks's two-week College Tour of ten schools across the country to encourage young people to get involved in the fight against poverty. As part of the tour, Edwards will speak with students and community activists on campus and visit a local community service site. Attendees are encouraged to bring a non-perishable food item, which will be donated to a local food bank with the help of America's Second Harvest.
