Blood from Central Texans!
If you are in Central Texas there is a call out for blood donors. The Blood Bank is reporting that they do not have enough blood to cover a major accident.

1. They always say that. It's probably true, and a good cause, but
they do always say that.

4. no they don't
they usually say they don't have enough to cover SURGERIES and some scheduled surgeries have to be postponed. When they cannot cover ACCIDENTS that is VERY DIRE INDEED.

7. I hear that accidents thing several times a year around here
Maybe it's always that dire, maybe Texans are too drunk to give enough blood.

8. I have a feeling that it is, at least in part, preparation for the...
...upcoming July 4th holiday. If I remember correctly, this is our worst holiday for accidents over the least amount of days. If you want to join me in being an outsider, drive sober on July 4th. :)

3. I'm a consistent donor
I don't wait to be called or for emergencies to happen. And the people who line up only when a catastrophe occurs: shame on you. You're trying to make YOURSELF feel better. DONATE WITHOUT BEING ASKED.

6. I can't donate...have been in Europe two years ago...
Too many restrictions are limiting our blood supply. I know that some restrictions are necessary but I don't understand why I can't donate because of my 2 weeks vacation in Germany.
