Tell your progressive friends what life would be like if Texas went Kinky
1. Prayer in public schools (what if I prefer to handle my children's religious up bringing without Kinky's help?).

2. Replacement of experience workers with young people to run the state because Kinky thinks "young people are less corrupt" (apparently has never been to meeting of either the Young Republicans or the Experience Corps).

3. Outsourcing border control by paying five Mexican generals each a $1,000,000 no-bid contract to keep Mexican immigrants from crossing the Texas-Mexico border illegally under penalty of deducting $5,000 from one of the general's annual $1,000,000 for each illegal immigrant (Kinky calls this "cowboy logic"; I bet those xenophobic minute men vigilantes love Kinky's plan).

4. Funding public education by privatizing the physical education aspects of our public school system (I'm sure that would be a great way to fix Texas's epidemic of childhood obesity).

5. Legalizing gambling (because who doesn't want more mafia and bankruptcies?).

7. Abolishing political correctness (let's ban this right after we ban the sexy cheerleaders).

8. Outlawing the de-clawing of cats (because Texas faces no more urgent crisis).

STOP KINKY BEFORE WE GET NADERED AGAIN!

1. Another point.
Kinky is running as the "reforming outsider" without a party. Great, but the Texas Governor doesn't have much power to do anything. If he wants to get his legislation passed, he's going to have to do it by working together with people and building coalitions in the legislature. He's a "lone wolf" that doesn't come from a background that helps out with coalition building. Is he really going to be able to do much of anything concrete to help fix our state?

For Dallasites-- think about Laura Miller. She, too, was the "outsider," the "reformer," and she too came from a non-political, independent background. And now that she's the mayor, seems to me her biggest accomplishment is pissing the council off. :P

2. And: Dems, stay faithful and we'll have a Dem governor.
To me, this is the best point yet.

"In 1992 George Bush Sr. carried Texas with 41%. Clinton got 38%, Perot 22%."
http://www.gammageforgovernor.com/rindy_analysisTXGov06.htm

--> If all Dems stay with their candidate and we keep that 38%, that's 63% of the vote left to split three ways. Give Kinky and Strayhorn 15% each of the total remaining, and Perry gets 33% and we get a Democratic governor.

3. Texas deserves Kinky
Electing Kinky would put a halt to this state. We would lose hundreds of millions in federal dollars for highways, education, etc etc, and would become the laughing stock of the country, as if we aren't already.

Kinky, Why the hell not?

Because he is an idiot and doesnt know what he is doing.

Just like Rick Perry.

4. Huh? How's that? Is any of this referenced?
"We would lose hundreds of millions in federal dollars."

Please explain yourself.

The TX Gov is a baby kisser. He has less power than all the other state Govs. This is how Bush got through it without being exposed as the severely incompetent dufus we all see now.

My only question, as a Texas independent, is can I sign the petition for both Kinky and Carol Keaton-Rylander-Joiner-Kersey-Strayhorn?

5. No, you can't sign both. Please sign Carol K-M-R-S's signature. At least
she's a real candidate with real policies (real shitty policies, but still she'd fix school financing which MoFo -- or Kinky -- won't).

6. Yeah, I agree that Carole Fournames would have a good crack
at fixing school financing. She's done OK with the comptroller's office and maybe she could strongarm the lege into going along, with the sheer force of her personality.

Kinky, on the other hand, might TALK about fixing school financing, but I doubt he will have the political capital (heh) to do so.

7. C4N can't add. She hasn't done a good job. Look at her record.
Just before the elections in 2002 she said the state had a $5Billion deficit.
Right after the election she corrected herself and it was a $10Billion deficit!

If your financial planner did this, you would fire them. This was a HUGE mistake. If she has stated that before the elections, it would have brought a new angle to the elections.

The Texas Tomorrow Fund which allows you to buy college at todays rates is not hundreds of millions in the hole. This was started by John Sharp and ended by C4N.

Don't give credit to C4N when she doesnt deserve it.

9. Carol K-M-R-S (D-R-I) offers moderate Texas Republicans a real alternative
Edited on Tue Jan-10-06 10:17 AM by Czolgosz
Is K-M-R-S (D-R-I) a hero of working Texans? No.

Is K-M-R-S (D-R-I) a blatant opportunist? Yes.

Would K-M-R-S (D-R-I) better promote reasonable conservative principles like fiscal responsibility and promoting an improved educational financing system as compared to Adios MoFo? Yes.

Would K-M-R-S (D-R-I) offer a better policy-based alternative candidacy as opposed to a Naderesque campaign without any real ideas which would nevertheless drain votes from Gammage/Bell as compared to Kinky? Yes.

In sum, K-M-R-S (D-R-I) sucks, but she doesn't suck as hard as Perry or even Kinky. I am looking forward to giving Texans a three-way choice between (1) the Democrat, (2) The Do-Nothing Republican Stooge, and (3) the opportunist K-M-R-S (D-R-I), but I'd rather see Kinky's phony populism relegated to his corny books and shticky country songs because Kinky's fake campaign is designed to Nader the Democratic vote.

8. REWARD -- Missing : point #6 from the OP -- PLEASE HELP ME FIND IT
Edited on Sun Jan-08-06 08:00 PM by Czolgosz
In the cutting and pasting off of Kinky's website, I cut out my own point #6 from the above post so now I look like an even bigger idiot who cannot count. Please offer your own suggestions for what should be restored in place #6 on the Krazy-Kinky-Policy-O-Rama.
