Judge James Klager has served the people of Nueces County as a Democrat and elected official for over 40 years.

After his service in the Texas Legislature, he has long served as Judge of County Court at Law #4. For the first time in his judicial career, Judge Klager has drawn opposition.

Here's some interesting trivia about past Nueces County judicial elections. Judge Klager's principal opponent in the primary is Hector Rene Gonzalez. In 2000, Gonzalez ran in the primary for the 214th District Court where he got just under 24% of the vote, not making the runoff between Judge Jose Longoria and current County Court No. 3 candidate Mark Skurka (that race looks an awful lot like the current race for County Court No. 3). <http://elections.sos.state.tx.us/elchist.exe>.
