Corpus Christi: Please come support Democratic Judge Candidate Jim Klager
Judge James Klager has served the people of Nueces County as a Democrat and elected official for over 40 years.

After his service in the Texas Legislature, he has long served as Judge of County Court at Law #4. For the first time in his judicial career, Judge Klager has drawn opposition.

Please come to George Blucher House Bed & Breakfast Inn at 211 North Carrizo Street (Two Blocks from the Nueces County Courthouse Corpus Christi) on Wednesday, January 11, 2006, 5:30 p.m.-7:30 p.m.

Judge Klager is a good judge, a great man, and a tremendous Democrat. To those who don't know him, please come and meet Judge Klager. To those who know him already, please come celebrate the kickoff to his re-election campaign.

1. Nueces County Democratic Party Calendar
I've forwarded notice of this event to the webmaster of the Nueces County Democratic Party website (http://nuecesdemocrats.org) for inclusion on their calendar. Campaign events are posted on the home page, and the Nueces County Democratic Chair, Solomon Ortiz, Jr., routinely sends out an email notice of upcoming events. Between his email and the web site, a large number of local Democrats can be contacted. To get future events on the NCDP Calendar, send an email to Solomon Ortiz, Jr. (his email address is at the bottom of the NCDP home page).

3. TOMORROW IS THE DAY! COME HELP KICK OFF JUDGE KLAGER'S
Re-election campaign at the George Blucher House Bed & Breakfast Inn at 211 North Carrizo Street.

Here's some interesting trivia about past Nueces County judicial elections. Judge Klager's principal opponent in the primary is Hector Rene Gonzalez. In 2000, Gonzalez ran in the primary for the 214th District Court where he got just under 24% of the vote, not making the runoff between Judge Jose Longoria and current County Court No. 3 candidate Mark Skurka (that race looks an awful lot like the current race for County Court No. 3). <http://elections.sos.state.tx.us/elchist.exe>. In 2002, Gonzalez ran in the primary for the 117th Court against Judge Sandra Watts and got just over 42% of the vote versus 57% of the vote for Judge Watts. <http://elections.sos.state.tx.us/elchist.exe>.
