For Time Warner Cable/Houston residents:
http://www.cspan.org/houstoninfo/

What's Happening?
Effective July 27, 2005, Time Warner Cable's analog customers in Houston, TX lost access to C-SPAN 2 on the basic analog tier.

Time Warner, in an effort to free up bandwidth space to accommodate more video-on-demand services, reclaimed the space from analog channels 76, 77, and 78 and in the process decided to move C-SPAN 2 to the digital tier.

C-SPAN 2 is now on digital channel 208, next to C-SPAN3 on channel 209.

Although C-SPAN 3 was already carried on the Houston digital tier, it was also being simulcast on (analog) channel 24. It has been replaced by The Hallmark Channel. Other changes to the channel line-up include:

In order for Time Warner customers with Basic Service to have access to C-SPAN2, they will have to upgrade to Digital service. Information is available at: www.timewarnercable.com/Houston/

Time Warner Cable has a long history of support for the C-SPAN networks. We are confident that once Time Warner's management is reminded of how highly their Houston area customers value C-SPAN 2, the company will find a way to restore C-SPAN 2 to the basic analog tier.

What You Can Do
Clearly, it is important for Time Warner Cable to hear from its customers who value C-SPAN 2 programming. There are several steps that you can take to communicate your desire for the return of full time access to our programs.

• Express your views directly to Time Warner Cable.
• Write letters to your local newspaper.
• Participate in local "talk radio" programs.
• Start a petition drive with other concerned viewers.

1. The Evil Empire took C-SPAN2 off analog cable
years ago in Austin. Good luck trying to get it back.
