1. This is great news!
I'm away from Central Texas on business and hadn't heard it.

Shouldn't this be in one of the Big Forums, too?

Not only are people interested in the Texas Legislature because of DeLay's machinations, but this is a result that should encourage Democrats everywhere.

We followed the story on the Voting Day thread that GOPisEvil started.

But no problem posting a new thread. It really is excellent news. I am so happy for Donna Howard. She will be a great representative. We can't get complacent though, we need to help her win the runoff. Never underestimate your opponent - even a sleazebag like Bentzin.

Kudos to the great campaign staff at the Howard Campaign as well. Well done!

3. If Bentzin wasn't a total scumbag
He could announce "In light of the fact that my two Democratic opponents got about 61% of the vote, the voters of District 48 clearly have spoken and I will not impose the expense of a runoff election on the taxpayers of Travis County." But I don't expect that will happen and so it is up to all of us to help Donna kick Ben's ass.

4. It is up to us indeed.
My favorite quote on Bentzin's position right now from PinkDome:
"Hey Bentzin, good luck pulling those Birkenstocks out of your ass now."
:rofl::rofl::rofl:

5. Yeah, good luck pulling those 13% out of your ass Ben.
I doubt the state GOP wants to sink money into your LATEST failure.
