HD 106: Ray Allen to resign?
from the Katy for Texas campaign:

Victory May Come Sooner Than November Ray Allen to Resign- Special Election to Follow January 2006

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

There is an exciting new development in the race for House District 106. Two political news services are reporting that incumbent Ray Allen will resign today, forcing a special election in the coming week to replace him with someone who wants to be part of the solution, not part of the problem.

As you know, we almost defeated Mr. Allen two years ago, falling short of victory by the slimmest of margins. As it turns out, we may have won after all, if today's rumors turn out to be true.

I am a candidate in the March 7 primary, and I will run in any special election that might be scheduled. If we are to be successful, however, I need your help.

Your contribution of $50.00, $100.00, or more will make a crucial difference in our fight to win back this seat for the working families of Grand Prairie and South Irving.

You may make a contribution, request a yard sign, volunteer, or endorse me from my website at www.KatyForT exas.com.

Time is short and every dollar makes a difference. In advance, I thank you for your support.

Sincerely,

Katy Hubener
Candidate House District 106

1. I do so hope this is true
Katy is a great candidate and would make a great representative. Of course Katy is going to have to go through another one of those "special elections" that Rick AdiosMoFo Perry piles on you. I think she's got an excellent chance. Go Katy Go!

Ray Allen has his baggage, everything from a finance scandal (I think he used his Government computers for his campaign) to an alleged affair. You know the standard culture of corruption you see in the republican party.

2. I know Katy...
she and I were in the Texas Tech band together and her brother is my best friend. I'll definitely poke him tonight and see what he knows about this situation.

3. Don't hold back VelmaD
We want the scoop. And tell Katy's brother we wish her all the best. Can't think of two finer Democratic women to join the Texas House than Katy Hubner and Donna Howard.
