WOW! 106 special election on Tuesday, February 28
Today the Governor set the date for the Special Election for House District 106 on Tuesday, February 28, one week before the March 7 Primary. Early Vote will begin on February 13.

We have less than six weeks to carry our message of strengthening our schools to the voters of Grand Prairie and South Irving.

That is why I need your help now more than ever. Your contribution of $50.00, $100.00, or more will help provide us with the resources we need to reach the voters. Your support will help us elect Legislator who wants to be a part of the solution, not the problem.

I will be a strong, independent voice for the working families of District 106 in the upcoming special session on school finance. That is why, with your help, I am confident of victory on February 28th.

You may make a contribution, request a yard sign, volunteer, or endorse me from my website at www.KatyForT exas.com.

As always, your support is greatly appreciated.

Sincerely,

Katy Hubener
Candidate House District 106

Guess it's time to contribute and get off my butt and get over to Grand Prairie and South Irving and help out. Any DUers in that area or in the DFW metroplex who feel like helping Katy out? There will be a small turnout for this kind of special election so every little bit will make a difference!

1. I'll try to shoot her something payday.
I know that every bit helps. I found out that it cost Donna Howard $750,000 to run for District 48 in the just concluded special and expects to need that much again in the run off! I was floored!

I had heard a million for a US House seat, not a Texas House seat.

2. Cool beans! If Katy wins, she's the incumbent in November
How does the special election work? Are there party primaries, and then a face-off? Or is it a free-for-all (like what happened in Austin?) and a runoff if necessary?

With Katy's mom on the county school board, education will be her strong suit.

3. As far as I know it's a free-for all...
I'm best friend's with Katy's brother and the last time he and I talked she was the only Dem running and only had one Rethug challenger...but don't quote me on that 'cause I don't think the filing deadline has passed yet.
