Push on Alito.
Wed. at 11 a.m. -- Kay Bailey Hutchison's district office in downtown Houston.
Houston Office: 1919 Smith Street, Suite 800 Houston, Texas 77002 713-653-3456
The more the merrier.
Just so they know we're here.
(I don't actually expect her to be in town, but whatever.)

3. Right now we have 5 women confirmed to visit the office. |
|
One group is leaving from Montrose, not sure where the second car is coming from.
PM me with where you'd be coming from - do you want to ride with someone?

6. Okay, we're on. Meet there Wed. |
|
P -- Hope to see ya. I think we'll arrive a few minutes before 11 am -- unless it's raining, meet just outside the entrance to the building. We have a group of 5 women -- plus you, to balance us out!
If you get there way early or late, because of train vagaries, I guess you could meet us up at her office.

9. They met with us for an hour. |

We had six eloquent women there, including a grandmother, several small business owners, mothers, one lesbian, one Hispanic.
We did not persuade staffer Albert Cheng one iota.
KBH will "support the president's nominee."
The conference room was littered (and I use that term on purpose) with Bush books, buttons, autographs, the gamut.
If that staffer, who was unfailingly polite, is any indication of KBH's beliefs, we do NOT have an even slightly moderate woman senator from Texas. He did not know what the unitary executive discussion was all about -- never heard of it. However, on torture, when asked whether he believed, in light of the documentation and photos already released, whether we had committed torture, he said no.
Un fucking believable.
