Dallas: FYI - Capital Bond Townhall Meetings
I'm sure some local activists will be interested in this.

Dear Neighbor:

The first round of Town Hall Meetings for the next Capital Bond Program is scheduled to occur over the course of the next two months. These meetings will allow our customers several opportunities to participate in the development of the program by providing valuable input on what they feel should be included in the 2006 Capital Bond Program.

The general structure of these meetings includes an opening presentation that provides basic information on what the bond programs have typically included, a brief overview of the status of the current (2003) program, an overview of the remaining schedule for development of the 2006 program, and two facilitated group exercises designed to generate structured feedback from citizens on citywide needs and priorities and neighborhood and community needs and priorities. The important feedback received at the meetings will be summarized and presented to Council later in the development process.

Following the formal meeting, citizens will have opportunities to submit feedback on their specific individual project requests and priorities for the next capital bond program. There will also be staff available to field individual questions.

For those whose schedules do not accommodate any of the series of meetings being scheduled citywide or who prefer to provide input without attending a meeting, there will be project suggestion forms on the DallasCityHall.com website.

Staff will be back out to get public input on the Recommended Capital Bond Program in early summer after it is developed and briefed to Council.

District 9 will host the following two meetings:

Monday, February 6, 2006

6:30pm

Martha Turner Reilly Elementary School – Auditorium

11230 Lipitt Avenue

And

A Joint Meeting with Council member Angela Hunt

Thursday, February 9, 2006

6:30pm

St. Thomas Aquinas School – Drama Room

3741 Abrams Road
