OK folks, I've decided to have a Super Bowl party again.
Edited on Fri Jan-27-06 07:13 PM by GOPisEvil
The Super Bowl is next Sunday, February 5th. Last year's gathering went very well, so I think I'll have another. There will be food, drinks, fellowship and good times.

So, who wants to come? Let me know so I can plan for how much food to make. Oh, anyone wanting to bring something, is more than welcome to bring it on.

So far the menu is regular and roasted red pepper hummus, chili con carne and veggie chili. More menu items to follow.

Edit - oh yeah, all DU Texans and good progressives are invited. :)

1. Well that's stepping up to the plate there
I like the menu so far, sort of like our party - big tent. I think we can count on me +1.

4. As a relative newbie DUer
Uh... where do ya live? Heehee! Huge Steeler's fan here... but, I also have a five year-old DUer in training (boy) so that may present a problem as well. :-) And, don't worry about hurting my delicate sensibilities if kids wouldn't be appropriate!

5. North Austin.
Braker/Metric is the nearest large intersection.

We did have a child in attendance last year, but so far, he'd be the only little one. If it doesn't bother you or him, it really doesn't bug me.

14. Hey, you two!!
Just because I live in the Pflugerville ISD is no reason to think I live in WACO! :spank: I live in Austin, Travis County, dammit!

Talking poilitics is allowed. I don't really care who wins. It's just an excuse to get together.

just can't resist...:hide: You, at least, live in Austin..since I am technically registered in Sunset Valley... i miss all the local voting fun.. I work the campaigns though and for some reason folks seem to like to put my name in the occasional endorsement ad too...

Store-bought is fine.

But, IF, IF!!!! you decide to bake, I won't protest too much. ;)

31. Thanks for having us over!
The chile was very tasty and the discussion was just as tasty!

I'm always on clean up crew. I was raised right. Your neighbors invite you over for dinner, you help clean up afterward. It's the neighborly thing to do.

Fair warning though, Melissa and I have decided that the next brunch is going to happen either South or in East Austin.

Sincerely
SADU
(South Austin DU)

Sonia

36. I'm kicking this to the top...
to let you know how much fun it was to finally meet you all and put faces with names. Thanks for making this newbie feel at home. :-) But, I was a bit bummed, upon returning home to find that Dem. candidate for District 20, Jim Stauber stopped by my house that evening and I missed him... *sigh*

The house is sold, and we are closing on the 3rd, but I'm going to hit early voting before I leave!!!! I'll let you all know when we arrive safely at our new home in N. California!

Hugs to all of you and thanks again,

Carole & that busy, busy boy of hers
