Austin: Rally with speakers: 7 pm, Austin City Hall (downtown, where S. 1st St. Bridge meets Cesar Chavez)

January 31 (Tue)
State of the Union demonstrations
Congress Avenue Bridge and City Hall
5 - 6:30 pm: Austin Against War is initiating a demonstration against the Iraq war to coincide with the State of the Union address. The protest will be from 5 - 6:30 p.m. on the sidewalks of the Congress Avenue Bridge.

7 pm: Local organizers involved with World Can't Wait will have a rally at the Austin City Hall with music from Alejandro Escovedo, Sumner Erickson/Texcentrics, and Funk Shui. More information from ben@villa-magdalena.com, 847-8312.

8. Any of the downtown metered street spaces will be free after 5:30 p.m.
Austin City Hall does have free visitors parking in their garage. Enter on the Lavaca street side from Cesar Chavez, but they don't have a heck of a lot of visitor parking. You might try there and if it's full look for street parking.
