WASHINGTON — San Antonio congressional hopeful John Courage joined other Democratic military veteran candidates Wednesday in a symbolic statement against President Bush's leadership on the Iraqi war.

Courage is one of 53 congressional candidates from the Democratic Party, including seven from Texas, who served in the armed forces.

Tuesday's gathering, between the Capitol and the Washington Monument, was intended to show that the candidates support the troops, seek improved health care for vets and want to "oust the integrity-challenged GOP leadership in our Congress."

"Iraq was an unreasonable and irresponsible war," said Courage. "That's not to say I don't respect the men and women serving over there. I've worn the uniform."

That's my future Congressman!

And by the way Matt, from Just Another Matt blog is live blogging the DC trip. He's got some pictures and posts about the groups they've been meeting with. He's got a picture of John and David Harris.
