DFA supports Ciro Rodriguez |
|
There is a Democrat from Texas in Congress that traveled the country to campaign for President Bush during the 2000 election. In 2004 Tom DeLay's redistricting helped him into a seat in Congress, and since then he has supported almost all of the President's major initiatives. In fact, he was even photographed being embraced by President Bush at the State of the Union just last week.
This same Congressman recently became the first and only Democrat to be endorsed by the Club for Growth. Remember the Club for Growth -- the ultra right-wing organization responsible for some of the most vile attack ads you can imagine -- including two vicious ads that attacked Howard Dean and his "body piercing, Hollywood-loving, left-wing freak show."
You have a chance to fight back and settle the score with George Bush, Tom DeLay, The Club for Growth and their hand-picked, faux-Democrat, by helping elect former Congressman, Ciro Rodriguez, who is fighting to win this Democratic primary next month. Ciro fought for our progressive values in Congress for eight years, and when he goes back to Washington in 2006, he'll stand up for progressive values again.
This is our chance to stand together against Democrats who claim to represent our interests, but go to Washington and betray us. This election is less then 4 weeks away, please support Ciro Rodriguez today:

1. More tennis shoes and sandals |
|
Education, immigration, health care, and yes, independent farmer issues play out big time in this district. Considering Henry Cuellar sides with repubs on these issues, why would anyone besides those who exploit immigrants and profit from school vouchers, pharmaceutical sales, and foreclosing on family farms vote for him. Bi-partisan and dialog might work in other states, but Texas is a cesspool of repub corruption. If he wants to side with this crowd, then let him go down with them.
By agreeing with this crowd, he goes along with the disgusting plot to demonize immigrants, and deny services to the people who depend on a helping hand.
As Gov. Mofo puts "more boots on the ground"(a coded phrase for police state if there ever was one)in border counties and the right-wing echo chamber is getting louder on sending US troops to the border, it is time to put more tennis shoes and sandals taking to the streets to kick up the dust and throw these bums out.
If we really need a wall to keep out people who wish to do us harm, then we should build a completely enclosed wall around the governor's mansion to keep Mofo from leaving, because anytime he leaves those cozy confines he does harm to more Texans and their families.
