On my ranch in my part of Texas, quail season has been over for several
months now so what is the skinny on this south Texas ranch where Cheney was out shooting people? Oh, pardon me quail.

1. That was the first thing I checked on
Great minds and all. :)

It seems that the quail season now runs from October 29 - February 26. I thought it used to be a fall thing that was over when deer season started, guess not.

2. Quail still on, but does he have his upland game bird stamp endorsement?
If not, he should be fined, jailed, then impeached. :P

5. Nope. Smoking Gun has the report.
In the report they got citations for lacking the stamp (Parks and Wildlife code 43.652).

10. Here where I think the difference is. There are no quail now where my
land is. That ranch in S. Texas, I will bet you, is stocked because most areas now have little if any birds to hunt.

7. No one who shot another person would ever be allowed to hunt
on my property again. No matter who they were or how much they paid.

8. Good thing you have ethics
However, Cheney and his victim were hunting without the required stamp.

Of course they will probably blow that off, even though they were issued citations. Cheney sent his $7. after the fact, didn't say if he would pay the fine whatever that might be.

I think the ranch owner should also be fined and penalized for letting people hunt on their land without the proper stamps.

These crooks make me sick with their Cartman attitude of "We do what we want" and "Respect My Authority" mentality.:grr:

9. You know I had not thought of that. I actually have a person who
manages the hunting for me since I am not a hunter and don't really even like hunting but the income keeps us afloat. (All of our hunters pay dearly to hunt. There are no pampered guests.) and he is in charge of vetting all the people who hunt. Each person also must sign a liability waver and a set of rules that are four pages long. One of the main rules is no drinking and hunting. I once found beer cans around a pond during bird season and went ballistic. I tell everyone that SAFETY is ALWAYS first and drinking and guns don't mix.

6. Well, it has been a long time since we wrote those first leases
and since I don't hunt, I did not know that the season runs through Feb. I hope those hunters don't read about Cheney hunting and get any ideas. Not having them around is the best part of my year.
