AUSTIN Democrat Donna Howard won election to the Texas House today to serve the remainder of Republican Todd Baxter's term.

Baxter resigned November First. He became a lobbyist for the Texas Cable and Telecommunications Association.

Howard, a former Eanes School District trustee, got 12-thousand, 618 votes, or 57-point-six percent, in unofficial, complete returns. Republican Ben Bentzin, a former Dell Computer executive, received 9-thousand, 281, or 42-point-four percent.

Yes Bentzin is now an official 3 time loser. We can make it 4 in Nov. since he'll be the only repuke candidate on the primary ballot and wins the repuke primary by default.

5. Ha! Ha! Bedsheets Leininger's Money Wasted

I congratulate Donna Howard for thumping Ben Bentzin and I'm also pleased to see that James "Bedsheets" Leininger lost his investment in Bentzin's candidacy. His pro-vouchers and public school fund-sucking "Parents for Bentzin" signs annoy the hell out of me.
