Ron Paul's response to the port issue
He replied quite quickly to my email!

Thank you for contacting my office regarding the recent decision by the Bush Administration to approve a state-controlled United Arab Emirates company taking over operations at six major U.S. ports.

I share your outrage over this decision, particularly as the Administration did not even bother to consult with Congress or the U.S. states involved.

I am pleased to inform you that I have sent a letter to Rep. Mike Oxley, the Chairman of the Financial Services Committee, requesting a full congressional investigation of this decision. As I serve on this Committee, which has oversight functions over the Treasury Department, I can assure you that I will seek answers from and share your concerns with any witnesses from the Administration.

As most of these ports are actually owned by U.S. states and municipalities, I strongly support those governors who have indicated that they do not intend to allow the federal government to dictate to them who will run their ports. I hope the Texas state government would display the same determination to resist a potentially dangerous federal dictate regarding the running of our ports should we face a similar move in the future.

Sincerely,

Ron Paul

1. OMG HE GAVE US AN ISSUE!!!
We need to follow what Perry does/says on this issue! If he supports Shrubbie, we need to hammer him on it, esp. since Corpus is a major military port.
