Bluebonnets!!
Saw Bluebonnets this morning around mile marker 84 on IH 37 northbound from Corpus. They're growing right next to the pavement along a very narrow little green strip. It looks like enough moisture collected off the pavement there to allow them to grow right next to the pavement. They go on for maybe 10 miles. Everything is drought/frost brown everywhere. May be the only ones I'll see this year.

BTW, there are none growing on the southbound side.

1. Wow, lucky you!
It's kind of early, isn't it? I thought they didn't start showing up until late March.

Everything's still brown here too. I miss color!

4. Beautiful!
Unfortunately I doubt there will be anywhere in the state with flowers like these this year. We ddn't really get much rain in October. We need good rain in October for Bluebonnets and other wildflowers in the spring. Then we need at least some rain for the next couple of months to keep 'em going.

There is still time for rain for the gold ones... I forget their name.

5. I think the name of the yellow flowers
are Brown Eyed Susan.

There is a really book called "Wildflowers of Texas" by Geyata Ajilvsgi

The flowers are color coded sections, details of the regions from which they can be found, growing seasons, etc.

It is a fascinating book to help identify our rich array of wildflowers. It has come in handy on more than one occasion for me!

3. Spring is my favorite season in Texas! I love all the wildflowers.
I can't wait until they start popping up here.
