IMO one cannot horse trade over the constitution. If he's concerned that his constituency, which includes Baylor, is upset over gay marriage, the thing to do would have been to make it clear that the vote yesterday was not over gay marriage but crippling the 3rd branch of government with far-reaching repercussions. It doesn't matter that it was a DeLay test-run that would ultimately fail-he chose to stand with those who dishonor the Constitution.
