3. You can post as much as you want David
This DU board and TX Forum is a free country where your free speech rights are protected. We do have rules of decorum, their mainly about not insulting other DU posters, but you are welcome to post frequently. We know you have plenty of work on the campaign so don't expect you to be here everyday.

Your tour schedule is of great interest to the citizens on this board.

David Van Os, the 2006 Democratic candidate for Texas Attorney General in Bonham April 5; PUBLIC INVITED

By Media Release
Apr 4, 2006

David Van Os, the 2006 Democratic candidate for Texas Attorney General was born and raised in Kilgore, Texas, attended the University of Texas on scholarship and received his law degree from UT in 1976.

He has been named as Texas "Super Lawyer" by Texas Monthly Magazine in 2003, 2004, and 2005. He now owns his own law firm in San Antonio where he champions constitutional law, labor, and civil rights.

David will be on west side of the Bonham Square across from the Fannin County Courthouse in Bonham on Wednesday April 5th at approximately 1:00 p.m. and will be there until 2:00 p.m. with his “Whistle Stop Tour of Texas”, and it is his desire to take his campaign message to small town, rural Texas where he believes the roots of populism still survive.

6. I just emailed my momma...
and let her know when you'll be in Greenville. Hopefully she'll be able to make it out to see you talk. I know she loves the "Fight 'em til hell freezes over then fight 'em on the ice" thing. :)

12. From the Bonham online newspaper:
"The commitment to public education is one of the mandates of the Texas constitution. The people of Texas have a lawyer that is supposed to work for them. Every family and every child in Texas must have access to the same opportunities under our constitution, the constitution of Texas. All of our citizens rely on it.

"Right now, our attorney general should be rolling up his sleeves and crafting a solution. Folks, this is a public education crisis in the state of Texas. It's time to fix it and I don't mean a band-aid. There's got to be a better way. I think it's time government came back to the people."

While everyone concedes that it will take tough decisions to correct deficiencies and properly fund public education, the populist rhetoric of Van Os struck a nerve in the home of Sam Rayburn, a man with tremendous grass-root support that demanded to be called a progressive.

Van Os also paraphrased one of the best stump speakers in East Texas history, Ralph Yarborough, when he told the crowd, "The Attorney General of Texas has all the tools to put the jam on the lower shelf where all the little people can reach it."
