We are trying to get a bus to the convention and need some opinions. Here is what we have so far. What do you guys think? Would you go on the bus? Leave/return dates and time OK?

$50 per person includes round trip and tip.

Leave June 8 Thursday at noon from Harris County democratic party. We will get there in time for the kickoff party at 7:00PM.

Return June 10 Saturday at 6:00 from the convention center. The convention ends just prior to this.

BYOB if you would like to have a drink or two.

Bus will drop you off at your hotel. Pick up at either a hotel or the convention center.

Transportation to and from the convention will be your responsibility.

Bus will have DVD, Bathroom, A/C, PA-System, Music. (dancing not allowed. ha-ha)

1. Is the party also arranging buses?
Melissa said something about that at the last Exec Committee meeting. Maybe there will be more info at the Exec Committee meeting this Thursday. Have you talked to Melissa?

A bus sounds like fun, but we plan to drive and get in sometime Wednesday night and we're not leaving until after brunch on Sunday.

If the party has a bus schedule that leaves early on Thursday and doesn't leave til around noon on Sunday, I'd do that. We have our hotel reserved for Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights. If we drive and get in Wednesday (as we're planning now) we'll just grab a chain motel on the edge of town for Wednesday.

I'm just not up for a bus trip that gets into Ft.Worth so close to the Thursday night festivities and leaves after a full day Saturday. Since you just hit 50, you can do that. When you get a few more years on you, you'll need a bit of downtime to rev up for the parties.

2. Well, if it were me I would not be wanting to take two days off work.
But that's just me, why not send out an email to your prospectives and ask them what they want to do?

3. We'll be driving, John.
But that sure is a good price. It'll cost me more than that in gas up and back, but we'll likely go see my brother in Fort Worth.

4. my thoughts
Any option where muse doesn't have to drive herself to Fort Worth is a good one, so keep me posted.
