Any thoughts about who to vote for on the board of ACLU Texas?

Just got the newsletter and I confess I have no idea who the good candidates might be....

1. Some people I respect recommend the following people:

Valerie Benavides, Randal Ellis, Ruth Epstein, Michael Howard, Charles Kiker, Michael Oeser, Mohammad Tariq, Suna Umari, Michael Wyatt.

That's the opinion of Kathy Mitchell, Ana Yanez Correa and Ann del Llano, three people whose opinions I generally respect.

2. I second Ruth Epstein

I don't know any of the others, but I've worked with Ruth on a few things Democrat related, and respect her greatly.

3. I second that motion

Those 3 women are the hardest working women in social justice in Texas and I value their opinions too. I've had the pleasure of working with each of them as part of the ACLU lobby legislative team.

Here's a little bit more on their endorsement of that slate:

A faction of the state board wants to dismantle what ACLU has accomplished in Texas. That must not happen. We need an ACLU board that will support Executive Director Will Harrell, not undermine his work. We've never had a more important election. Please help. Find the ACLU Dispatch newsletter (you should have received it in the mail) and you'll see the mail-in ballot. We support the board candidates whose names are listed below, and we hope you do too. It's important for the future of ACLU Texas.
