dancing in the offices, and I'm chair dancing right now. A
good sign of hope for changes to come. There is still justice
in the world.

22. Well I'm bummed that I won't get to see
Linda Lay and her St. John Knits every night on the 6:00 news anymore :sarcasm:. I won't miss Jeff Skilling's pathetic attempts to look like a sad puppy dog though.

Still not ready to strike up the band. Need to see my friends who trusted Kenny Boy and Jeffrey's guarantees and placed their entire retirement on the line by investing in nothing but Enron stock recieve compensation first.

23. Can you elaborate on that retirement deal? Did employees have to
devote all their retirement funds to Enron stock? I seem to recall something like that, but it's now been so long, I'm drawing a blank on particulars.

24. No, it wasn't mandatory
and when I began working for Enron in the late 80's they encouraged us to divest. In the late 90's they got us all hot and bothered about how great the stock was and how we would be gazillionaires if we'd just buy, buy, buy Enron stock. Glad I didn't listen. There was a "stock ticker" in every elevator that reflected the price of Enron stock by then and it seems like that's all we ever talked about.

14. Gotta love it!
The jury has reached a verdict in the criminal trials of former CEOs Ken Lay and Jeff Skilling. Judge Sim Lake's case manager, Heather Carr, confirmed the news to KHOU-TV. The verdict will be read at 11:00am in Courtroom 9B. It will be blogged here.

11News Reporter Jason Whitely is in the overflow room at the federal courthouse awaiting the reading of the verdict. He is blogging it, adding a GUILTY or NOT GUILTY to the side of each count.

16. In Federal trials, the judge decides the sentences based
on sentencing guidelines which provide for the punishment to be proportional to the damages. The damages in this case are historic.

We're going to have to build new jails just for Republicans!

19. and here's the kicker
the judge CANNOT modify/reduce the sentence no matter how hard the defense begs. Remember all those Republicans who wanted to "get tuff on crime" when that meant getting "tuff" on Hispanic & black drug dealers & acted like cry babies until the sentencing guidelines were put into effect? Karmic paybacks, karmic paybacks. Oh the irony!
