link: http://www.amarillo.com/stories/021508/clinton.shtml

One of the most recognizable faces on Earth will be in Amarillo today campaigning for his wife in her quest to be the first woman president of the United States.

Former President Bill Clinton will be at Amarillo Civic Center Grand Plaza from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. at a "Solutions for America" town hall meeting. The Grand Plaza holds 1,100 people seated theater style. The event is open to the public.

President Clinton is campaigning for his wife, Sen. Hillary Clinton, D-N.Y., as she seeks the Democratic Party's nomination for president.

Bill Clinton appeared Friday earlier in Texarkana, Tyler, Lufkin and Nacogdoches. Senator Clinton toured the Rio Grande Valley on Friday and picked up multiple endorsements from elected officials in the area...

2. Lubbock, then Austin, I guess
At least that's what the article sez:

"After leaving Amarillo, President Clinton will travel to Lubbock for a town hall meeting from 5:45 to 7:45 p.m. at Lubbock High School."

We got to see him in 1992 in Austin. I hope the weather isn't miserable tomorrow night!

5. He won't be flying commercial
He's on a private plane, so he can make both appearances.

I got to see him at BookPeople and got my book signed.

6. Oh, I know but
he has a reputation of being late in the past. Plus, if you allow 15 minutes to the Lubbock airport and 15 minutes from the Austin airport, that only leaves 45 minutes of flying time between Lubbock and Austin! :)

7. He's worth the wait
Weather, well it might rain a bit. But maybe he'll bring clear skies with him. We did get some much needed rain today, so maybe it will let up a little tomorrow.

8. Our event was to start at 2:45
It didn't start until 3:30.
People in the audience said he didn't leave Longview until 2:30, but he was literally MOBBED when he walked through the crowds after the speech and stayed signing books, taking pics, etc.

I have been refreshing the only damned teevee station that has a decent website - KFDA. So far, no recent coverage. I only watch via the web now.
