Dallas peeps- what time are you going to get there tomorrow for Obama?
I was thinking 8ish. Too early?

I was thinking about taking a car, so we can take a couple of folding chairs, sit for two hours, and then put the chairs in the car. With my back, these days, standing for two hours is no damn fun!

What's everyone else doing?

1. Sounds like a good time
I'm planning to take the Dart rail. The Union Station stop is not too far from Reunion Arena. I can bring more chairs, if you have room in your car. I bet people will be lining up early.

2. In case it compares to Houston....
Gates opened at 6pm. I got to the Toyota Center at 1pm (I took 1/ a vacation day!). There were about 35 people there when I arrived. Within the next 2 hours, there were probably 2 thousand. By 4pm, the lines were farther than I could see! I would guess at least 6 thousand in line before the gates ever opened.

3. You're making me worried
I have to work a bit in the morning. I'm going to try and get in at 7:30. The bad thing is part of what I do I have to depend on someone to do their part first. I told them today I need it ASAP (they'll be in at 7am) in the morning, not 9am. I'll call once I get in and even offer to go over there and help them if I can. Yikes.

At least I'm just over in Irving, so I don't have far to go.

4. Is 10:00 too late?
We were planning to go by DART rail & arrive by 10:00. We went to the campaign office open house this afternoon, and they said the doors will open at 10:30 and he'll speak around noon.

How many does Reunion Arena hold, anyway?

5. Reunion holds 19,000
Isn't that capacity way more than the crowds he's been getting? I would think you could show up at noon and still get in. But I'd be happy to be wrong. :)

6. That's what I thought
On the morning news, they showed people already lined up & they said the line is already around the building! But, then, they'll open the doors at 10:30 and let those people in, and there'll be plenty more room in there.
