Austin DU Gathering October 22-24
C'mon Austinites! We want see all y'all somewhere that weekend!

Here's my first thread on the topic:

http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=180x4199

We're coming into town Friday afternoon and staying until Sunday. We want to take a Bat Cruise Saturday evening and we have plans for lunch at the Driskill Sunday. The rest of the calendar's open.

Dave-o, when can you and I get in a round of golf (Saturday morning?) and where?

How about some Saturday afternoon sports viewing and binge drinking? Anyone? (The Longhorns are on the road against the Red Raiders; maybe we can get Darth Velma to show up. And my Astros will probably be playing in a World Series game that day... )

Of course if anyone has some campaign work :dem: to do you can count on a couple of extra hands (and plenty of cellphone minutes also)...

Time to show your faces, lurkers. We want to see them.

2. Golf? Drinking? I'm in!
We might even have some campaigning for you. Wanna get rid of Todd Baxter and/or Jack Stick? Us, too. :-)

I'll have to check on golf specials. There's plenty of munis around if the nice places are too full.

5. What time are y'all getting in Friday night?
And are you interested in a pub crawl down 6th street either Friday or Saturday night?

And of course I'm interested in getting hammered and watching lots of sports. Fight Raiders Fight!

6. About 3 or 4
Maybe earlier; we have our annual physicals scheduled for the a.m. and will leave Houston around noon.

Friday night for a pub crawl (inclusive of a live music venue); we want to do that Bat Boat Cruise/Dinner thing on Town Lake Saturday night.

12. If you have time on your busy schedule - Rib-O-Rama Saturday 10/23
Hey PDitties and all DUers

This is the premiere South Austin down home party of the year. Texas famous for friendliness. My friend D.T., who is a damn fine Democrat, is one of the cooks. Best damn ribs you ever feasted on. And the admission is cheap - $5. So bring your lawn chairs when you come to Austin if you can. Parking is always busy so bring comfortable shoes to walk in case you have to walk a few blocks. It's a beautiful private home. All are welcome. I am definitely going to be there. D.T says he doesn't think Toni Price will show, but you never know who will else will. Flounders Without Eyes is a Grateful Dead cover band and they are really great. We usu sally show up around 5:00 or so.

Keep in on the to do list. I'll send you the address via private mail. It is open to anyone that wants to come. It is not a private party but I didn't want to post their address out here anyway. All DUers out binge drinking are welcome to come as well. Any side dish is welcome, but they always have too much food anyway. Just pick up something from HEB, like a dessert.

Sonia

14. Shameless plug - Fri 22nd Bakin' Brownies CD Release Party on 6th
Edited on Mon Oct-18-04 06:11 PM by MazeRat7
Bigsbys @ 505 E 6th or check the Chronicle for details Doors open @ 9, no cover, band starts @ 10 and will go until close. I'll be the guy behind the keys with the no-W button. I am the only DUer but the rest of the band is in the Kerry column as well - and yes we all plan to vote.

Hope some of you can make it and I will try to do the same for the other events.

PS: If you want a preview, catch us on KLBJ - local licks live Tues night @ 10:30.
