Could Richard Morrison have coattails for Kerry in Texas?
I've heard he's running real close to DeLay, and may overtake him with the corruption charges against the BugMan. Is there any chance that bush/Cheney will end up having to campaign for votes in Texas?

1. It would be nice. I wouldn't bank on it.
I think the best we can hope for is for Richard Morrison to take DeLay out. Or for the investigations to take DeLay out.

2. Yes and No from someone who is working for both.
Good question!

We can put up 30 Morrison signs and 30 Kerry signs in our area, and have only 5 Kerry signs left. They leave the Morrison signs alone.

But, we have gone through 1000 Kerry signs, and will be ordering more soon! 4 years ago, we order 700 signs for the ENTIRE election! We have a month left!!!!

Richard Morrison is gaining with Republican voters who are tired of DeLay. They will not vote Kerry, but will support Richard.

All of this is antedocal, but considering there are very few DeLay signs out, who knows?

4. Morrison
I had Morrison come speak to my Young Demcrats on the high school campus where I teach. He spoke briefly, but told me before the meeting that his internal numbers looked good and that Delay can't break 45% in polls. I know a lot of Conservative teachers in Sugarland who are not happy with his lack of support over the Teacher Retirment/Social Security issue.

5. While "coattails for Kerry" may be too much to ask,

there is terrific momentum around the Morrison v. DeLay campaign.
AND: Read today's New York Times article on DeLay -

<snip>

But {a Democratic Congressman} acknowledged that it would take Republican disenchantment for Mr. DeLay to lose his leadership post, as was the case with Newt Gingrich, who faced an ethics inquiry in 1998 but stepped down as speaker only after his party lost seats in the midterm elections. One prominent Republican, speaking on condition of anonymity, echoed Mr. Hoyer's assessment, saying the elections - and not the ethics rebukes alone - would determine Mr. DeLay's fate.

<snip>

The election of Morrison will solve the quandry of House Republicans face as to whether to make DeLay step down as Maj. leader or not!
