Does Rick Noriega Face A Run-Off?
I mostly get my state and local news from newspapers. Does anyone know if Rick Noriega got enough votes to go on with his campaign against Cornyn, or does he face a run-off with that Gene Kelly person?

3. Well, I just found this in my inbox.
Thank you, Texas. Thank you to over a million voters who put their trust in me with their votes. And I would like to thank you, one of my earliest and dedicated supporters, for carrying us to our primary victory last night!

Texas is changing: We've seen voter turnout in this election like never before. It's unheard of how many people in Texas are yearning for a change -- a distinct change from the Washington policies of Bush and Cornyn -- policies that Texans know just aren't working for them.

But this victory is just the beginning. Our campaign to defeat John Cornyn begins today. Please contribute to our General Election Fund today!

Over 2 million people voted in our Democratic senate primary. That's a 400% increase over the primary in 2006. It's clear from the huge turnout that there's going to be a tidal wave for change in Texas this year and we're going to be there right at the top of the ticket.

And it's clear from tonight's results that because of your help I am the Democratic nominee for Senate, and with your help I'm going to be the next United States Senator from Texas.

5. It's 50% plus one vote not 51%
He won.

And may the dead dancer rest in peace. But you know the dead dancer could do a little more to help us in Texas by making sure the guy trying to steal his goodwill didn't try to run in another election. I'm sure the dead dancer has to have some pull with other older and wiser souls.

8. I heard that one of the party people in Bexar chewed him out
When he came to file. Not that it did any good. The guy just loves himself too much.

11. I think that's 50% plus 1 VOTE, not 50% plus 1%(which would be 51%)

9. Nope:

By avoiding a runoff in a crowded field, Rick demonstrates he has broad support. While you can't extrapolate those numbers directly to general election turnout, it is a clear sign that Democrats are excited not only about their presidential choices, but about down-ticket races as well.

So thanks, Texas voters! While you were out voting for Obama or Clinton, you are also helping elect a candidate who's a decorated veteran, against the war, will vote "no" on retroactive immunity, and would work to bring American dollars back home to boost our ailing economy.

10. No runoff despite the fact that Galveston, Brazoria, and Chambers all voted for Gene Kelley instead
of Rick. WTF was going on in the Galveston, Brazoria, and Chambers area?
