D/FW - 'Liberty Bound' - Oct. 11 & 25
(The interview with Howard Zinn in this film is alone worth the price of admission.)

Texas Filmmakers Series

Liberty Bound
By Christine Rose
Monday, Oct. 11 and Monday, Oct. 25 at 7PM at the Angelika Film Center

The Video Association of Dallas, known for its unrelenting support of
independent filmmakers, will showcase Christine Rose's Liberty Bound as
the October installment of the Texas Filmmaker's Series at the Angelika
Film Center. The screenings will be held on Monday, Oct. 11 and Monday,
Oct. 25 at 7PM.

Liberty Bound is a provocative look at the United States post-9/11,
when measures such as the Patriot Act, which were designed to increase
national security, may have had some damaging effects on civil
liberties. Christine Rose, formerly of Huntsville, Texas, poses some
difficult questions in an entertaining Michael Moore- style and looks
at America's ongoing struggle to keep a comfortable balance among
democracy, captalism, and fascism. Through original footage, archived
footage, and interviews with people such as Howard Zinn, Michael
Parenti, and Michael Ruppert, Liberty Bound explores the state of the
union and some of its more frightening moves toward repression. She
profiles people who have been interrogated by the Secret Service and
threatened with arrest for doing such benign things as sending an
email, turning around during a Bush speech, and having a philosophical
discussion on a train. www.libertybound.com.
