I know him from some environmental work on Earth Share. He's a good man.
From a quick look on their site, I actually think their message is a good one. Our public schools don't suck. Could they be better - yes. But they aren't the worse in the whole world. Maybe just the worse in the US. Ha!
They're not pro-voucher and that's a good thing.

I saw several of their billboards between Waco and Temple where they quoted such an improved statistic concerning dropouts that it seemed to be in support of "No Child Left Behind" as actually working. This same stretch of road is home to quite a few RW editorial type billboards (anti-choice, etc.) that it made me think not too highly.
That said, I think the Public Schools are doing a good job despite being forced to spend way too much time teaching to an unfunded mandate and being diverted by groups with way too many extreme agendas (usually religious)
