I'm applying to fill the empty Democratic Precinct Chair in my Tarrant County precinct.


Somehow this reminds me of a t-shirt my friend used to wear: "stop me before I volunteer again." :P

We all need to do a little more, so if that opportunity is available to you - I say go for it.

I'm sure it will be challenging but I'm sure you can handle it too. If the position is vacant, it really needs to be filled. You are doing the right thing.

3. My uncle volunteered once when he was in the Navy

Felt sorry for the officer who asked for volunteers, so he raised his hand & got several more of his buddies to join him. Everyone else laughed. Then later they got their assignment: go wash the elephants at the San Diego Zoo so National Geographic can take your picture.

No fake. Check out the January 1942 issue & then the story on San Diego. Look for the photo of Navy sailors washing elephants. My uncle is the one hosing down the elephant.

Moral: Sometimes volunteering is fun! :) Good luck!
