But it was a very tasteful strip joint where conservative family-values Republican Pete Sessions held his fundraisers
John Aravosis (DC) · 7/30/2008 09:59:00 AM ET · Link

Now there's a lady who loves her country:

From MarketPlace we learn that family-values conservative GOP Congressman Pete Sessions (R-TX) has been holding fundraisers at a strip club in Vegas. Sessions was publicly livid over Janet Jackson's "liberal values" when she bared her covered boobs during the SuperBowl a few years back (Pete Sessions... scolded Janet Jackson and Justin Timberlake for forcing "their liberal values upon the rest of the country" after their infamous 2004 Super Bowl halftime striptease). Sessions was less upset about the boobs shown at his fundraisers at a Vegas strip joint. Here is how Sessions described the affair to the media, and below are lots more photos from the strip joint. It's priceless:

Sessions: That's right, we do a Las Vegas fundraiser every year and not only raise money, but see Las Vegas. It's a beautiful town.

Henn: Forty Deuce is a strip club.

Sessions: You know, I've never seen that. It is what I would call a burlesque show where there's a woman who comes out and has a dress on... Uh, she never get's naked. There's no nudity, there's no nudity in there.

This is how the club's owner, Ivan Kane, describes his brand of burlesque.

Ivan Kane: The key component would be to have girls who were dancers taking their clothes off, not just girls taking their clothes off.

Sessions spent more than $5,000 at Kane's club that night in March, according to federal disclosures. Those reports show Sessions spent another $2,100 on his hotel.

Here are some more shots from the club's Web site. This would be a screen shot of a video of a guy whipping a woman's ass with a riding crop:

1. Streaky Pete's roots are showing - ha ha
WaPo Sleuth bog
GOP Rep. Sessions' Defends His Burlesque Fundraiser

We had never heard of a member of Congress holding a fundraiser at a Las Vegas burlesque nightclub... until now.

And the culprit is card-carrying conservative Rep. Pete Sessions (R-Tex.). The same Pete Sessions who scolded Janet Jackson and Justin Timberlake for forcing "their liberal values upon the rest of the country" after their infamous 2004 Super Bowl halftime striptease.

But that was then.

Now we learn that Sessions held a racey (for Washington) fundraiser for his leadership political action committee last year at Ivan Kane's Forty Deuce nightclub in Sin City. A description of the club on its web site, which features a scantily clad dancer, reads: "A blue light silhouettes the sax man as one of the sexy, sensual dancers slowly slinks down the stairs to the stage and leans out over the crowd, holding on with only a handful of the world-famous curtain of pearls! Jaws drop and drinks are ignored as the tempo picks up and the dancer steps up, shedding boa, gown and gloves towards the electrifying finale."

Not that there is anything wrong with a burlesque fundraiser -unless you're a hypocrite like Session that is.

Eric Roberson, what an opportunity you have now!

2. How em-bare-assing for Petey. Doing math . . . .erm
whoa! at $20 bucks per lap dance . .. . (clickety clickety clickety equals)

that's like, 250 lap dances. Or approximately one lap dance per working day of the year, no non-holiday vacations.

Oh the burdens we place on politicians. . . .

5. DMN finally wakes up and joins in

'07 party hosted by Rep. Pete Sessions at Las Vegas adult club draws criticism

11:04 AM CDT on Wednesday, July 30, 2008

(snip)

Aides to Mr. Sessions, a self-described conservative, and others said the act was a mild burlesque show, but some conservative activists were aghast that the event was held at an adult club.

"What's the difference?" asked Cathie Adams, president of the Texas Eagle Forum. "I don't think that it's representative of the constituents of the district. I'm in shock."

Mr. Sessions' spokesman defended the fundraiser.

"This was an event that was from two years ago and it was at a PG-13 venue," said Guy Harrison, Mr. Sessions' chief-of-staff. "It's a retro club that's as risqué as a 1940s film."

Sessions staffer says it was two years ago. Note to Guy Harrsion - this is still 2008 dude. In fact it's only been about 1 year and 4 months since the burlesque Guy.

The DMN had to put the year in the title too to play it down. Janet's Superbowl accident was 2004, so by 2007 Sessions had already forgotten his outrage at "liberal values". What a hypocrite!

6. Eeeeeek!
Is it a nipple or a pasty that looks like a nipple?

?

Somehow I don't these are Gypsy Rose Lee types. Of course she was always naked. She was just good with the feather fans. Her hands really always were quicker than the eye.

The fall of the Republican Party is a sad thing to watch. But also hilarious at times.
