Houston Chronicle endorses Richard Morrison District 22
http://www.chron.com/cs/CDA/ssistory.mpl/editorial/2850084
District 22, Richard Morrison
DeLay's misplaced priorities were most evident in his previous ban on federal rail transit funds for Houston, causing the funds to go to other cities. DeLay was behind the redistricting effort in Texas that displaced badly needed property tax relief and school finance reform as the Austin leadership's top priorities.

Morrison faces an uphill battle in this race. The Houston region and the entire country will be better off if he succeeds.

Go Richard Go!!!

Other good picks listed too Nick Lampson, Sheila Jackson Lee, Al Green, Gene Green

1. I saw a commercial for Tom DeLay
and I couldn't believe he had the balls to use the phrase "Help is on the way." Once a lying a-hole, always a lying a-hole.

3. This has been the best news I've read all day
I first heard someone talk about Richard Morrison at a house party for Howard Dean back in February, At the time the opinion was he didn't have a snowball's chance in hell but working for him anyway was good for your soul anyway. Can it be that victory is within reach? Excuse me while I get my credit card.

4. Wasn't that a great endorsement of Morrison?
I've been donating to him since last October (I'm in Montgomery Co.) and he seems to definitely have a chance of beating Delaid (sp. intended). Delaid's ethic smacks have helped but the redistricting issue is what is coming back to bite him, which it should.

5. This from the Brazosport Facts
With the message on his Web site and billboards, chief challenger Richard Morrison has hit the bipartisan nail on the head in his race for the U.S. House District 22 seat against incumbent Tom DeLay: “A congressman should serve the people of his district.”

Numerous newspapers, including The Facts, have endorsed opponents of DeLay, the Sugar Land Republican, in past elections. Usually, DeLay didn’t face a strong opponent, but it was hoped a “no” vote would send a message that the congressman should spend less time waging partisan power struggles and more time tending to the needs of his district.

It’s safe to say that message never has been received, and if so, was ignored just in the same way DeLay has ignored many of his constituents — especially those in Brazoria County.
