Can I wear my John Kerry T-Shirt to vote early

I know you can't put out signs within a certain distance of the polling place but can i wear my John Kerry T-Shirt to the poll to Vot early?

Well, I plan to be the first one to vote in Bastrop county. I was hoping someone would catch me on film going in to vote with my Kerry shirt on!!!

It would be better if some dim witted Republican pulled this stunt and had to be removed.

4. No, you cannot, unless, you wear something over it and close your

coat, jacket, etc. until after you have left the polling premises. Had this happen to me and since it was raining that day, I simply closed my raincoat over my blouse with the Dem pin on it. That's is how I know for sure. BTW, that was here in Texas 2 years ago and I knew the election judge (Dem.)and she conferred with the repuke judge and they said just close your coat. Do not take any chances though and don't let them throw you out. Might reflect badly on our guy.

I've been asked to remove buttons and leave election day campaign material outside before coming to vote. Its considered electioneering and in Texas you cannot electioneer within 150 feet of the ballot boxes.

I just went to poll worker training yesterday and we were instructed to ask people to turn political shirts inside out or to cover them up with a jacket or blanket. We were told that if they absolutely refused to do so we should let them vote, but hustle them through as fast as we possibly could. No clue what the rule is in Texas, but I think the "no electioneering within 100 feet of the polls" thing is a federal rule.

As a former Tx election judge I can assure you this is a big no-no. No candidate buttons, either. And if you have a "list" of who you plan to vote for you're not supposed to show it to other voters in the polling place.
