THis link is to the I45 cams... check out the 225 cams down to La Porte, absolutely nobody. And at 7 in the evening on a Friday?

Amazing.

The house we had in Seabrook off Toddville Rd. may not be there this time tomorrow.

1. That's just messed up ...

Driving home from work last night (at 5pm) it freaked me right out that I drove the 12 miles in about 15 minutes. That *never* happens. What was more eerie was seeing the highways going the other direction, which were at standstills.

Reminded me of all those disaster movies I'd seen where some lone idiot was going toward the danger while everyone else was trying to get away. I suddenly realized I was the lone idiot. :-)

Had to take a screen cap of that for posterity.

2. The last hurricane I was in was Alicia.
I was working at KTRH. We basically camped out there for a couple of days. When things were over, in the morning, I drove home on streets littered with glass, signs, traffic lights and flora. Pretty wierd scene.

3. I'm south of Hobby airport; it's getting 'really' windy out there.
I'm glad people are bright enough to get off the roads.
And the lights are flickering. Sigh. Say goodnight, Gracie?

4. Girl, you're just about as far south as anyone should dare to be!

Be safe!

But watching the radar loop, it sure looks like the storm is still going more west than towards Galveston. If it doesn't turn pretty soon, it's going to have to make a 90 degree right hand turn to make it to Galveston.

5. We were told not to evacuate, and hoping it won't be as bad as the
media is making it out to be. We're prepared, and thanks for that vote of confidence. :hide:

7. Report from Clear Lake Hilton; they're thinking about moving the
people in the hotel to lower floors; the basement is already flooded.

8. A section of the outside facade has come off

it crashed into the TV station van.

But it had to be a freak gust, maybe a small twister or something as when it happened the stronger winds were still offshore as they are now.

Same parking lot where that woman ran over her husband after she caught him with his girlfriend.

9. Yes, the very same parking lot! And I did hear some cars were
damaged. Getting scary everywhere. Even m$nbc is covering it.
