Dallas County judicial candidate finds himself in a dogfight, and not a political one
Campaiging can be dangerous, as a Dallas County judicial candidate learned today. Kevin Krause reports:

Democratic judicial candidate Ken Molberg was attacked and bitten multiple times by a pit bull on Saturday afternoon while walking a southeastern Dallas neighborhood as part of his party's organized effort to turn out Democratic voters.

Mr. Molberg, a Dallas lawyer who is running for the 95th Civil District Court post, was going door-to-door on Lake June Road with fellow candidate Judge Don Adams when the attack occurred shortly after noon, local Democratic Party officials said.

Steve Tillery, executive director of the Dallas County Democratic Party, said Mr. Molberg was walking up to a house and saw the dog through an open door. The dog ran out and attacked him, he said.

Mr. Tillery said Mr. Molberg tried to fight off the dog and then jumped onto a car before the owner got the dog under control. Mr. Molberg was taken to Baylor Medical Center to receive stitches for bite wounds to his upper leg and groin area, he said.

Mr. Molberg is the most senior member of the party's State Democratic Executive Committee.

I hope Mr. Molberg's recovers without to much pain.

1. Ouch! Poor guy! I don't wish that even on a Republican.
I wonder if there's any kind of spray you can carry that discourages but doesn't permanently damage dogs?

I was wishing for something like that when I was delivering door hangers in a rural area - I skipped the houses where I could see loose dogs from my car, but at the last house a dog was sleeping under the house and came out baying. Fortunately, I am good with dogs, and it was young and as scared of me as I was of it. It tried to climb in the car with me when I left....!
