So, what will it take?
What do the Dems need to do to try to turn Texas blue in the 2010 and 2012 elections for president/senator/congressman/governorship/local leaders? We have a strong bases in South Texas, Austin, El Paso, and Dallas, now we need to expand on it. We need to win in the suburban counties of Dallas, Houston, and Austin if we have a shot of winning elections.

1. first reply 10 hours later?
Does that tell you part of the answer? BTW I don't think winning national elections will help us much, esp in rural Tx. Of course getting Cornyn and Hutchison out would, alone, give US Senate majority, and they are 2 of the worst there. But what about Perry, state house and Senate, etc? Any more local than that it probably doesn't matter, the Repubs are often unopposed these days. What about judges?

We have a high percentage of uninterested voters who vote against their own interests.

So, education might do it.

2. Well...
I personally think Perry and Cornyn are doing a wonderful job of turning Texas blue right now. :)

3. agreed
But Ann Richards did a better job until GWB spent $50 mil against her $5 mil....and his donors still control a lot of things today, including Perry.

4. Aragorn, the Dems may be able to win in Texas nationally, if they tap into the Latino vote more
There's tons of rural counties in Texas with 50% or more Latinos.

5. The worst two...
They are the worst two simply because they are still the favorite Bush lapdogs and she is the worst of the two simply because of the threat she represents if she becomes governor.

And for those Democrats who believe she would be better than Perry, you should really do a little research into Kay Bailey Hutchison simply because she was tied into the corruption even before she ran for office through her husband's law firm which quite frankly is probably the most corrupt law firm in the country. Read the Batson Report.

Nothing could be worse than Rick Perry? Kay Bailey Hutchison will be.
