Dallas co. EV turnout ~15% already. My precinct ROCKS. |
|
We have just blown through 145,452 total for Dallas county.
And my delightfully Democratic leaning precinct in Dallas, who voted for Big Al in 2000, but only had a paltry 250 or so voters, just turned in 528 voters IN EARLY VOTING. We have 1000 or so registered and have probably just smacked through 50% voter turnout!
And we've still got four days of Early Voting to go!
Woooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!
HEY, we did two precinct walks and a phonebank on this bad boy, so I'm feeling kind of proud right here.

Keep up the good work getting our voters out!
One of the Democratic Groups in Austin put up a nifty little interface on the web with the back end to the database of voters in Travis. You can look up your friends and if they haven't voted, you can send them e-mail (you have to provide the e-mail addy) but the e-mail tells them to vote early and where. It also tells them what precinct they're registered in and where they they vote on the 2nd if they can't vote early. I used it to fire off about 10 e-mails just this afternoon to some of my wayward friends.
This was my message: Dear (insert name) You made the list, but it's not a good list. You aren't on the list of unclaimed money. You're on the list of unclaimed Democrats who haven't voted yet. So I'm claiming you and sending you a friendly reminder to vote early. I know you're going to vote, but you really want to get off the list soon. I'm going to be watching for your name on this list.

according to today's paper, 10,000 people voted early last week. i don't think that includes the saturday & sunday numbers, though. we have approx. 97K registered voters & our GOTV campaign has set a goal of 50K voting in this election. so, we're just over 10% of the registered voters, & 1/5th of the way to the turnout goal, with four full days of early voting left. :)
here's hoping we can turn texas blue nov. 2!!! :)
