TOM DELAY: "I don't think it's my job to improve education."
I'm posted this in GD2004 too, but it sank like a stone. The video of DeLay and his deer-in-the-headlights or smirky reaction shots are priceless.

I'm sure many of you have seen this an e-mail from Richard Morrison, running against DeLay in TX District 22:

Thanks to you, we reached last week's goal of $100,000 to run more Morrison spots in District 22. The Introduction spot will be aired tonight in Game 4 of the World Series because of your contributions. It will be apparent to all the Houston viewers watching the World Series that Tom DeLay's name-calling charges on Richard for being a dirty "liberal" are just that - meaningless insults.

We can't give up now. With less than a week to go, our last Get Out the Vote efforts are the most critical. We have two new spots to run and every dollar you can spare will go toward getting them on TV. Please donate today.

Judging by the last few days, Tom DeLay has figured out what we already knew: this race is real. He and his sketchy PACs are flooding the airwaves with ads, and of course have already gone negative - if you can open Real Media files, check out this clip:

http://media.morrisonfor22.com/TX22_Delay_Why.rm .

He's even begun going door-to-door. There's no doubt that DeLay is on the run.

Last week, after first dismissing the Clear Lake High School Debate Club Candidates Forum as not important enough to attend, Tom DeLay made a surprise appearance.

TOM DELAY: I don't think it's my job to improve education.

RICHARD MORRISON: President Bush stood beside Senator Kennedy and passed the No Child Left Behind Act, and under Mr. Delay's leadership, that act has been woefully underfunded. And when Mr. Delay began his redistricting, the Governor and the Lieutenant Governor told him, "Don't do this, because we know we're gonna need the political capital to get something done about Robin Hood." Mr. Delay came down here and said, "No, the priority is my redistricting to increase my power." Now, the Lieutenant Governor and the Governor no longer have the political capital to fix our broken Robin Hood system. I think we need to hold him accountable for that.

WE CAN DO THIS. In a recent interview with Washington political newspaper The Hill, when asked if he thought his support was down among voters, Tom DeLay said, "I don’t know if it is or not. We’ll see on Election Day.”

Yes we will, Tom. We'll all see on Election Day.
-------------------------------------------------------

If you can, help Morrison - this race has national impact like no other.

1. We have the power to kick DeLay's ass to the curb
He really belongs in jail, but our chances of getting him there are vastly improved when we get him out of congress first.

All the repuke campaigns are going negative, that's all they know. Fear and hate. They never answer the charges, they just just harp on "liberal, liberal, liberal"

Away with DeLay!

And of course DeLay wants to be associated with bu$h drunk frat boy values. Check out the commander-in-cheat's one finger salute to us.

2. Going down south this weekend and also on Election Day
Helping out in Clear Lake on Sunday and working a polling place in his district half a day on Tuesday.

I've given more and worked harder for Richard Morrison than I have for anybody in my life.

Fucking DeLay is a serpent. He's writhing, hissing, spitting and striking in all directions as he finds himself in the throes of his political demise.

And I want to help hold the shovel that cuts his goddamned head off next week.

Figuratively speaking, of course...

3. PDittie, John, Lisa and JJ we appreciate all you DUers are doing
If it was on my turf I'd be working as hard as you are. We're working the hardest we ever have in our lives too, for Texas for Kerry and for our country.

When you cut off DeLay's head figuratively, can I have a piece of the rattler on his tail? Should be pretty long considering how long that poisonous bastard has tortured us. Again no offense to the reptiles that are creatures of nature. DeLay is a manifestation of evil in human form.

Good luck to us all!
