About 75 faculty object to Gonzales' hiring

LUBBOCK, Texas — Dozens of current and former faculty at Texas Tech University have signed a petition objecting to the hiring of former U.S. Attorney General Alberto Gonzales.

Walter Schaller said Thursday he began the petition because he was troubled by ethical issues that plagued Gonzales, including the question of torture at Guantanamo Bay and the firing of U.S. attorneys whose politics were not in line with the Bush administration.

Gonzales, the Bush administration's attorney general, will teach a political science class on contemporary issues in the executive branch and recruit and retain minority students at Tech.

Recruit and retain minority students? Really?

:kick:

1. Recruit and maintain minority students
Hmm. Why am I reminded of that nursery rhyme, The Spider and the Fly?

I believe I saw a petition going around to protest him joining TT. I'll see if I can find it and link it up.

4. I have CREDO too!
I've had them for almost a decade along with their credit card. Great company! It is my only bill I don't mind paying :)

5. Plus you support non-profits by using them
That's what I like about them too. It's so hard deciding who is going to get some of that money. So many great causes to support.

6. All progressive non-profits too!
They also have excellent customer service. I've been very happy with them. I always "round up" on my bill to give a little extra.
