1. You can flame me, but Martin Frost's ads sound like Bush ads |
|
I do not have the text, but I assure you Martin Frost's TV ads sound like ads for GWB. The text mentions 2-3 times how co-operative Frost has been with GWB. I realize Frost is in line on union issues in particular, but how can the Democratic Party succeed with ads flattering to an opposition cadidate? IMHO, it is balony.

If Frost runs on an anti-Bush platform, he's going to lose here. This district is nearly 60% Republican, and votes even more heavily than that for Bush. The only reason this race is close is because Frost has Republicans who are crossing over to vote for him. Frost has to do what he can to overcome DeLay's unprecedented redistricting scheme.
Perhaps you'd rather send Pete Sessions back to Congress, though. As for me, I'm sticking with Frost.

Frankly, when I moved to this district, I thought he was too conservative for my personal taste--then I saw the jobs he was bringing in and the transportation money he brings home to the district. I'd rather have someone who works than someone who just spouts liberal rhetoric but gets nothing accomplished.

4. True. This is a jerrymandered district, now, primarily Repub, for the |

purpose of ousting Frost. He wouldn't stand a chance if he's perceived as liberal, which he's not, anyway.
Frost is a moderate who does seem to vote independently (he says). So he should present himself as he is and not try to be too liberal or too conservative, if he's not those things.
He's got the Dem. vote. He doesn't have to worry about that. He's fighting for the vote of moderate Repubs and independents.
