Frost v. Sessions (Cong.Dist. 32) - anyone have idea who's likely to win? |
|
I've only heard of two polls (by the DMN), and Sessions was ahead. But I'm wondering if new registrations or a heavy turnout, or faulty polling, might fix that.
Anyone have any info indicating who might win in this newly jerrymandered Congressional District 32? I'm part of the new district. Since I didn't have a Democratic challenger choice before, I'm DELIGHTED to have been able to vote for Frost! But this is now a weirdly shaped district, so I'm wondering if the jerrymandering worked and will ensure a win for the incompetent and stupid Sessions.
I see more Frost than Sessions signs in my area.

1. I haven't actually seen the polling data... |
|
...but I've heard it's a dead heat, like 49 Sessions, 48 Frost. When I was canvassing for Frost yesterday, Imy walk partner yesterday told me that some of the Sessions signs are "peer pressure" signs to placate diehard Republican friends; she says people she's talked to in Park Cities are saying Pete Sessions is an idiot and they'd never vote for him.
I personally talked to an ex-Republican yesterday who thinks the whole party has lost its mind letting the evangelicals take over, and she'll never vote Republican again. The last one she voted for was John McCain in the 2000 primary.

6. There was a rally here Monday night for *. We're near Crawford, so * |

was in the area to vote, no doubt. He voted in Crawford this morning.
A friend of mine suggested, however, that he stopped in Dallas to help Sessions, who she heard was in trouble. But the clip I saw on the news gave no indication of a Sessions plug or anything. I think he was doing a last "thank you" with funders and such. PARK CITIES/HIGHLAND PARK/N. DALLAS is the LARGEST campaign fund contributing area to Bush in the entire country, I read.

5. Heavy new registrations and early voting can mess up those polls. |
|
So, it's wait and see.
I'm even hoping for lightning to strike -- and for Lico Reyes to win in 26. Go Lico!
