Eh?

Dallas area DUers? I don't know where he's slated to appear and you can bet your butt the security will be tight but I am damn tempted to find out and finally get a chance to be somewhat in the vicinity with a great big ol' sign.

How can we find out where in Dallas he's going to be?

It'll be tomorrow, Monday. There's a thread about it on GD Campaign 2004...

1. You go, bud ... but be careful
I don't trust the idiots ... they are in a panic right now and desperate folk do stupid things.

That having been said, please flip off the bastard once for me, eh?

3. He will be @ SMU, and it will be late!
Bush continues on Monday in Ohio, then heads to Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, Iowa, New Mexico and a stop late Monday night in Dallas at Southern Methodist University.

Whew is he gonna be tired. Six states in one day.

I heard that the event/rally was going to be around 9:00 or 10:00 pm.

5. The protest is on. NTJP, Dallas County Dems, Green Party, Independents,

this is a last call for all. Just like 2002, he did the same thing. As far as I can gather the plans are to meet up around 8:00 at Mockingbird and 75 on the overpass and then it is about a 3 to 4 block walk on a sidewalk to Moody Coliseum. (I know, I was there in 2002 as were many, many DU'ers and members of other groups). That evening we managed to avoid being herded into a free speech zone before his Bush's arrival, I think it can be done again, but will require much more finesse this time.

There will be plenty of people there this evening, including people that are involved with ACLU.

E-mail from Dallas County Dem Hdqtrs:

GUESS WHO IS COMING TO DALLAS?

On Monday, November 1st

President George W. Bush will be making a pit stop in Dallas.

Where?

Moody Coliseum located at SMU.

(Mockingbird east of 75/Central Expressway)

Security begins screening at 7PM and “W” is expected to be on stage

roughly after 9PM.

The Republicans need a final boost.

We will not let them have it and we will not lose our momentum in Dallas County.

We need to welcome “W” home permanently.

How?

· First – Show your disapproval for “W” by coming to our office and helping phone other Democrats and remind them to vote. We are at 4209 Parry Ave., Dallas. 214/821-8331.

· Second – After recruiting voters go to SMU with PRO Kerry signs.

· Third – If you really do not like “W” be loud, stay late at SMU and show your disapproval in any creative way you want to show it.

· Finally – Wake up on Tuesday. Go vote and make sure 10 people you know go vote Democratic.

Dallas County is full of Democrats; let’s prove it on Nov. 2nd

6. I would love to go, but I don't wanna get arrested.
Better safe than sorry... I am working a polling place on election day and I don't want to spend the big day in the can. Remember NYC?

7. Sorry you feel that way and it is very sad. The sidewalks belong to us.
Bus stops all along the way. For walking in a long line, we get arrested because we are carrying signs? That sounds like a song......

"Stop now,
What's that sound
Everybody look what's going down......"

See you on the other side of tomorrow. Good luck to you and hope it all goes smoothly for you and your precinct.

yep - freinds of mine were on the construction crew that installed the sets, etc. for the Moody Coloseum event. I was really wishing for a tornado to hit SMU last night.
