It went very well. We had 8 people come out to our brunch this morning and while we can't stop flush_bush from leaving the country, we managed to assure ourselves that we're here for each other. flush_bush was leaving the country even before the election was decided anyway. The good news is that we will now have another contact in a safe country, where we can flee if need be. Otherwise, most of us were in fighting spirits although more convinced that this regime stole another election.

Speaking of stealing elections on a local level, we wanted to make sure you knew about the Hubert Vo situation.

Go check out this report at the Burnt Orange Report. This is close to your turf, see if some of you in the Houston area can help spread the word to see if you can put some heat on Kaufman.

Republicans Trying to Steal Houston Election

It was fun. Shaz and Midnight Rambler both came out for their first meetup. We get any more locals to come out and we're gonna need a bigger table. :)

I like to think that I would have made it out on Sunday, but because I had a self-induced media-free weekend, I didn't see a computer or this post until today.

Next time, would you maybe put up the invite on Thursday, or Friday before 4:00?

(And my weekend was like being on a lovely desert island: no tv, no radio, no newspapers, no movies, no internet.)
