What Texas Campaigns Have You Worked The Hardest On
For me it was probably Mark White's campaign in 1982 and 1986 and Gary Hart's in 1984. My claim to fame: I drove Hart around San Antonio in the summer of 1983. All of the candidates were in San Antonio to attend some event. Hart wasn't too friendly. He hardly said a word to me.

1. Laura Miller for Dallas Mayor
Technically a non-partisan race, but everybody knows who the D's and R's are.

Looks like my next will be Martin Frost.

2. Mark White 86
After all of the work, I went to vote and wasn't allowed because I had moved and hadn't updated my registration because I didn't know it had expired.

3. Would you believe...
Humphrey/Muskie in '68? There was a very active chapter of young dems in Nacogdoches at the time (yeah, yeah, I know already).

4. I have always voted, but this is my first year involved in politics,
other than two days on a phone bank for Ann Richards so many years ago.... I worked on the Dean campaign here, and I am currently volunteering whenever I can with the Richard Morrison campaign. I have been to a Kerry event, but haven't gotten too involved yet. I do plan to do more very soon. I also work fulltime and do some community service work, so it's hard to fit much else in... but I am doing my best to stay involved.

I'm feeling the same. HAven't gotten my old gusto back quite yet, but it's getting there.

Headed to Washington this weekend. After that I should be sufficiently fired up!

7. Lloyd Doggett this year
Those f**king repukes took my congressman away from me by redistricting me, and leaving half of Austin represented by repukes who live outside of the city. My repuke congressman is that racist Lamar Smith from San Antonio.

Well come hell or high water I was gonna make sure Lloyd made it back to Washington to piss off Tom DeLay everyday. Even though he won't represent me I still consider Lloyd my congressman. He's my congressman in exile. I'm ashamed to say this was the first time I had worked for Lloyd even though I had voted for him each time. Hey he was in a safe district before always winning 70% or more of the vote. It was worth it, he of course won the primary race and that district 25 is 75% Democratic so he will win in Nov.

9. Well that's your opinion
Mine is that he is a racist. He's very anti-immigration especially Latino immigration and that makes him a racist in my opinion. He wants to import cheap labor for high tech companies, but he's not willing to protect the people who are already here. He consistently votes to cut off any protections for immigrants.

Check out his record and you decide

10. Mine was Judge Michael Lynch
Just a "local" campaign, can't remember the year, but it was the first year he ran, so it was some time ago. I'm proud to have supported this man. He has done a great job. I hooked up on the campaign through working part time for a local lawyer, trascribing a book he was writing into computer format.
