Univ. of Texas branch of Young Conservatives of Texas.. check this out

Here in Austin on KEYE news (CBS) showed a clip of the activities of the Young Conservatives of Texas. Some of their activities included crashing a anti-war protest and picking fights with the demonstrators, having an affirmative action bake sale where the price depends on the race of the buyer, and straight pride parade day, a toxic waste collection day where they gathered up Kerry and other Democrat signs and put them in a dumpster. They currently have a contest going on where you submit an essay on "Why I plan to leave America" and you can win a one way ticket to Canada, paid for by someone else in true liberal fashion. I wanna go make some trouble at their next activity.

3. Her story wasn't new but 51 March had no coverage

Maybe wathcing the 10 pm new didn't ahve any coverage about the 51 Capitol March.. but Keye would rather talk about a fascist idiot which had no NEW news.. her news was all weeks old.... than to show legitimate protestors in the SAME CITY!

Young conservatives are idiots and always have been. I remember when they were called young Americans for freedom and how upset they became when you called them young Americans for fascism

8. It seemed to me a negative spotlight on them

Its hard to make them out to be wonderful when having a bake sale where the prices depend on the race of the buyer and crap like that. Also showed them starting trouble at a anti-war rally. To me, it seemed to show them as troublemakers, not the children of our future.

They advertised the story as showing not all students at UT are liberal. DUH, of course they are not ALL liberal, but thankfully the majority are.

6. YCT @ UNT

These people are an embarassment to all living creatures. They're like little Limbaugh rip offs waiting to be unleashed on the world. I ended up in a class with the founder of YCT at UNT and several of their officers. It was not an enjoyable class, to say the least. It didn't help that the instructor silenced all left wing dialogue in the class.

Prior to the election UNT held an event called pollapolooza where the various political groups and campaigns on campus set up booths in one of the common areas on campus. The YCT's entire booth was nothing but idiotic drivel. They had crap with slogans like "Nuke the whales save the males" and "no hippies". See here (http://orgs.unt.edu/yct/photospoll.htm)

They also do the bake sales and the other generic YCT garbage.

The best press they received on campus was last Spring when unknown individuals mass printed flyers for them with the picture of Bush in front of a row of US flags waving in a nazi-fashion, their meeting time and anti-liberal slogans that might as well have been their own. I really thought they were legit until articles, editorials and letters appeared in the school paper ad nauseum condemning the flyers and claiming they were not theirs. Of course, the Campus Republicans and Campus Democrats (go figure) also condemned the flyers.
