Legislator wants highway signs in Texas to mention Bush
http://www.kvia.com/Global/story.asp?S=2696790

This is so sad. Here I am trying to deny his claim to Texas and they want to post it on highway signs. Texas has no shame.

AUSTIN A legislator from McKinney has introduced a bill that takes pride in the place President Bush calls home.

Representative Ken Paxton wants all "Welcome to Texas" signs erected along interstates, U-S and state highways to also say: "Proud to be the Home of President George W. Bush."

Paxton and Bush are Republicans.

4. Sounds like you have
a real 'cult of personality' underway, instead of just a normal elected leader.

5. LOL.. I say let 'em. They'll eat crow soon enough.
My only problems with this are the costs to taxpayers and the most probable use of inmate labor to make the stupid signs. One is inappropriate (mis)direction of limited public funds and the other is cruel and unusual punishment...

8. Hey Paxton, you don't speak for me!
You can put up a sign saying "Home of pResident Bush", but don't give me that proud crap. I sure as all HELL am not proud that * calls this state home.

That's clearly marketing for a candidate. They ought to be busted for it.

13. Good try, but the campaign is over
this would be legit if he had actually been elected fairly and not fraudulently.

10. Drive through Arkansas, folks. Home of President Bill Clinton
those signs went up at every state border within the first year of the first Clinton administration.

NOW, whether the state paid for them, or some private donor,or what, I couldn't tell you but they are there.

At least Bill was BORN in Arkansas, in addition to spending most of his life there except for college up until the presidency.

I have to suck up and swallow the Texas signs because I thought it was so cool to see the Clinton signs....I can't have it both ways...

11. Since you are so fairminded,
wouldn't you say that he should actually be fairly elected first?

12. oh, but of course....
I sure as hell didn't vote for him, nor his daddy neither!

And like I said, I thought the ARkansas signs were cool, so glad we finally were back in the WH and all...

so I am just going to choke on Shrub's signs and pretend they don't exist.

I don't cross the state line by car often anyway

14. What about LBJ?
He was actually born and raised here!

Or these signs are supposed to go up for just these last four years? Was this done for his non-Texan father?

The Dallas turnpike is named in honor of his father - the first dumbass Bush in office...

But i'm sure they will rename Central Expwy after Dubya any day now.
