Jan 6th is this week, any protests in Houston or Austin? |
|
I have been away from DU for a few days. I remember seeing a thread in the Texas forum about protesting on the 6th, but I can't find it. Can anyone update me about the protests scheduled for that day? And/or share any helpful sites about protests in Texas. I know the 51capital site, are there any others?

I would love to participate in a Houston rally. I've looked on KPFT< Harris County Dems, Sharpstown area dems, and elsewhere and haven't found anything yet. Maybe its time to just do it ourselves.

3. I sent out Kay Bailey Hutchison's Houston office address to |
|
Code Pink to see if they would be interested in organizing a protest/rally/meeting with her staff before Jan. 6, but only one person wrote back. Here is what I sent. It's not too late.....
This election is not over, folks. The strands of the webs of election deception are finally being tugged on. US Rep John Conyers is doing yeoman's work in Ohio, as are David Cobb and Cliff Arnebeck. Attorneys for John Kerry filed a motion to intervene in one of the lawsuits in Ohio on Dec. 27, asking for evidence to be preserved, and to take some depositions.
Since the media is playing dumb, the public has to turn up the heat. (PS I recently saw an email that one of the country's major dailies wrote back to a letter writer -- basically saying that he, the poor person who has to slog through letters to the editor -- was being INUNDATED with letters on election fraud! Ha, he was pleading for mercy! The New York Times published five letters on it just the other day.)
Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison has an office in Houston. Perhaps a group would like to organize a protest there? It might be more effective to do it the day BEFORE the vote.
She has a number of offices around the state; it could be coordinated and done in several cities.
United States Government Offices: Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison (713) 653-3456 (713) 209-3459 (FAX) 1919 Smith St, Suite 800 (near the Pierce Elevated and West Gray) Houston, TX 77006
