Okay, indulge my fantasy
All Democrats move to Texas (watered down Republicans need not apply).
Texas has secession in its Constitution to make it a soveriegn country.
We turn the state blue, make our own country and then arrest Bush when he comes to Crawford for war crimes--since there isn't any other country with balls to do it.
Ahhh..okay...time to wake up now,lol.

Impeach the shrub!

2. Sounds good, but...
If we did become our own country, don't you think Bushco would find some reason to invade us?

8. Not so fast!
According to Snopes,

"Another Texas-related legend holds that the Texans negotiated an annexation treaty which reserved to them the right to secede from the Union without the consent of the U.S. Congress, but the terms of Texas' annexation contain no such provision."

http://www.snopes.com/history/american/texas.asp

I guess any state can secede with the approval of Congress so I'm not sure we any special status in that regard.

But fantasies don't have to be based in reality so dream away!

9. Well, but we CAN divvy ourselves up.
So the newly Democratic state would get, what, eight more Senators?

What would we call the new states? How about

West Texas: Flatland
North Texas: Big Hair Land
South Texas: TexMexico

and then of course there's always: The People's Republic of Austin. :D

Any other suggestions?

11. Which new state gets *?
Maybe we can exile him to an oil platform in the Gulf!

Or build bars around his Crawford "ranch" and sentence him to hard time REALLY clearing cedar instead of just pretending to for photo ops.

Edited on Fri Jan-21-05 07:43 PM by madamheidi84
once we seceded all Bush would do is accuse the leaders of our new country of tyranny, invade us, ship our asses down to Guantanamo, and pull TX. back into the union.
