3. I used to work with a guy from Texas, |

and he used the hook-em-horns whenever he was psyched about anything. I thought it was very cute at the time (I was 20!)

I'm sure nobody actually thinks that the hook'em sign, as used by Dipshit Hobag, was actually a thumbs-up to Beelzebub. It's like the "terrorists never stop thinking of ways to harm our country, and neither do we" comment --- people just like to harp on the stupid crap that these twits spew.

9. I see bullshit everywhere. You could stack it to the moon and back. |
|
No, I'm not from Texas. I have nothing against Texas except the hotel prices during SXSW and the fact that Modest Mouse opened for the Pixies and I couldn't go.
As for my thoughts about the unfortunate and unacceptable bias against Texas and the South, comb through my posts and see how many people have put me on "ignore" for calling them on that sort of bullshit.

But you ask me to RELAX...
I am so fucking sick and tired of the Texas bashing I could BARF!
I mean... shit, I am a fucking liberal, I voted for Kerry, I volunteered for the campaign. I canvassed, I did alot, and for people to fucking bash the fact that I am from Texas is disheartening to say the least.
Where are the "bleeding heart liberals"?
Like it's MY FUCKING FAULT THAT SHRUB IS IN OFFICE! ???

The real bias appears when you read posts that mention "rednecks" or make insinuations about inbreeding.

6. when will (some)Texans understand |
|
that they are not the only sovereign creatures in god's creation?
Look, the symbol is not unique to UT. Other people use the same sign and were using it LONG BEFORE the bricks of that university were laid down. You don't own that symbol. You may allow yourself to be unaware of reality and even try to convince others that the symbol is "only" the UT sign, but that is revisionist history. That sort of arrogant attitude makes you all look like ignorant--well, Texans.
Why don't you just laugh and admit that whoever picked the "secret" sign was an idiot, that perhaps it should maybe be changed since it's WELL KNOWN as counter to Christian teaching. Maybe you should even apologize for offending any folks who were offended.
It's bad enough that overly religious types believe Bush is the Anti Christ or the Returning Christ or whatever. He is pouring napalm on the paranoid by continuing with the Satan Sign saying it is a Texan thing. That is BS.
I have a theory that THEY KNEW the sign was satanic when they picked it, and disguised it as "Longhorns" just so they wouldn't get slammed by the religious. They wanted to embody the devilish spirit conveyed by that ancient European handsign so as to infuse their performance in the game. They like it and don't give a shit if it makes them "little devils"
I don't give a shit either. It was a party, and I don't expect any seriousness or dignity out of our jackass pResident at any time. Who cares what kind of gang signs are popular with his posse? I just think Shrub looks like a fool slippin those fingers out with the nasty "victory" smirk on his face like that, and anybody else who does it too.
That's just my ornery personal opinion.

your response makes me wanna laugh my ass off!
Texas has had the "horns Up" sign since 1863, that's a loooong fucking time ago, it's just NOW that it has become an issue.
I find it RIDICULOUS in this day that anyone would freak out over a UT hand gesture.... It's a small fucking thing!
Like I said earlier....EYES ON THE PRIZE Folks!
This is just ridiculous in my opinion!

The sign is a hook 'em horns sign. Bush's daughter graduated from UT. Bush was the governor of Texas which meant he lived in Austin, home of the UT Longhorns. I grew up there and when you live in Austin, you are a Longhorn supporter. As governor of Texas, you are a UT fan for life, I am sure. When you send your child to UT, you are a UT for life.
Give these people a break, they are not "throwing the sign of Satan!!!!"
The whole thing is utterly ridiculous.

19. isn't it interesting.. |
|
how both the ROCK CULTURE imposed sign of the devil and the University Of Texas Longhorns symbol are the same, makes me wonder if the musical genius behind it hated UT anyway UT has used it for years upon years while it has only been popular as the mark of the beast so to say for a few decades.
No offense but I have to agree that it is just a hand sign, no one should apologize. What does it matter, if people in general are ignorance of the history. You have to remember Texas has a long and different history then the rest of the nation. And for that reason alone, you should not assume things mean the same ever where else as here. I learned that when I moved down here from the east coast.
Anyways there are far more retarded things that the Shrub has done to fixate on then support a Texas college football team.

But I also wonder why GWB would use it since he was rejected from that school a long time ago. I would think he'd still be pissed.
